Bold Street is a bustling road in Liverpool city centre that is bursting with restaurants serving food from around the world. Bold Street’s close proximity to Central and Lime Street train stations make it the perfect destination to head to if you’re after some delicious food within easy reach.
Bold Street is a very popular area of the city centre and whilst most, if not all of the restaurants featured below welcome walk-ins, we would always recommend booking in advance to ensure you get a table in your chosen restaurant.
Akasya
£££ | Turkish Cuisine | Open Daily 12-11 pm
Sample some authentic Turkish cuisine at Akasya on Bold Street. Their menu features a range of traditional chargrilled meats, seafood and vegetarian dishes all served with rice and salad. There’s also a (somewhat limited) children’s menu for younger diners. Why not treat yourself to one of the many cocktails on offer? All of which can be made as mocktails upon request.
If visiting between 12-5pm Sunday to Friday, be sure to check out the lunch time menu, offering 2 courses for £14.95.
Albert Schloss

Albert Schloss on Bold Street is an Alpine themed European bar and restaurant, serving authentic indulgent dishes and the perfect bar snacks to accompany your beer. They have an extensive menu including breakfast dishes, Sunday roast and a dedicated menu for younger guests.
The ‘Cook Haus’ offers traditional dishes such as chweinshaxe, spatzle and fondue with a modern Schloss twist. Or sample some of the classics including crispy beer-battered fish + chips, humble pie and paprikash chicken.
If visiting for drinks or a lighter lunch, be sure to check out the ‘Bier Halle’ menu which offers a range of smaller dishes such as sandwiches, pretzels and wursts.
Guests can expect live entertainment seven days a week, to check out what’s on before your visit, head to the website.
Bakchich

This popular eatery on Bold Street, Liverpool, serves authentic Lebanese and Moroccan dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bakchich is a great option for vegan and vegetarians and there are a variety of dishes to suit all tastes.
The menu features a range of hot and cold mezze, burgers, pizzas and more indulgent specialities. The food here is delicious – we really would recommend a visit.
Top tip: Save room for the seriously tasty desserts!
Bundobust

Bold Street is home to Bundobust, the original Indian street food and craft beer hall. Guests can expect a more laid back casual dining experience, with small but mighty dishes, cooked fresh to order and bursting with flavour!
All dishes are vegetarian, with many also vegan. Fear not meat-eaters, the food is so tasty and flavoursome, you’ll not be disappointed!
There’s an impressive selection of craft beers and some cool merchandise you can purchase such as t-shirts and tote bags. Bundobust is the perfect remote working destination, with charging ports located on the tables by the windows.
Dunman

Dunman Bold Street serves Mediterranean brunch, cakes and pastries in their bright and contemporary setting. If visiting for brunch, choose from traditional dishes such as menemen and patatesli yumurta to classic options like full English, omelette and paninis.
If you’re not after a meal, the delectable freshly made cakes and baklava are a must! Select one of the many milkshakes, herbal teas or cocktails to accompany your tasty treat.
Elif

Elif, Bold Street is a high-rated and very popular Turkish bbq restaurant serving authentic, freshly prepared dishes, cooked over an open fire. The menu features a range of hot and cold mezes, chargrilled meats and seafood options. Vegetarians and Vegans are well catered for, with lots of veggie options on the main menu as well as a dedicated vegan menu.
If you plan on dining between 11-5 pm, check out their set menu with two courses for £14.95. We would definitely recommend booking in advance if you plan to visit during peak times- there is often a queue out the door on weekends.
Guests with younger children should note that prams are not allowed inside the restaurant due to lack of space.
Fat Hippo

Serving the ‘best burgers in Liverpool’, Fat Hippo, Bold Street is the perfect place to stop by if you’re after some tasty, finger-licking grub. Their menu features a range of jam-packed beef, chicken and vegan burgers, alongside some delicious looking starters and side dishes. This ones not for the calorie counters or those looking for a fine dining experience- it will get messy!
There’s a varied children’s menu and all dietary needs can be catered for, upon request. Walk-ins are welcome, but do book in advance if you’re hoping to visit at a specific time.
Check out their lunch time special offer, available weekdays until 4pm and their early evening ‘hippo hour’ meal deal options.
Fogo Brazil

Fogo, Bold Street provides guests with an authentic Brazilian experience, in an all you can eat style serving. Chefs offer diners various cuts of grilled meats in addition to the hot and cold salad bar. If you’re ready for more, leave your card on the green side. If you’ve had enough, turn it to red- it’s that simple!
Prices are based on time of the day, with reduced rates for younger guests. Although there are limited vegetarian options, the focus here is obviously on the meat dishes so we would encourage vegetarians and vegans to check out the more veggie friendly options in the surrounding area.
Greek Taverna

Greek Taverna, Bold Street, offers guests a traditional dining experience with a selection of authentic Greek dishes, served in a warm and welcoming setting. The food is seriously tasty and generously portioned. There are vegetarian options and a limited selection of children’s dishes.
Their ‘Early Bird’ menu is reasonably priced and has many options to choose from. If you’re after a lighter meal, check out the tapas menu, where you can enjoy three dishes for £16.95

The Italian Club

The Italian Club, situated on Bold Street serves freshly prepared authentic Italian dishes. Their menu features all of the expected classics- antipasti, pizza, pasta and selection of mains.
Guests after vegan or gluten free options are well catered for, and children can enjoy the ‘bambinos’ menu, with a main, drink and ice cream priced at £9.95. Be sure to check out the daily specials, for some locally sourced, seasonal delights!
La Parrilla

La Prailla, Bold Street is a Mexican tapas bar and grill serving a whole host of Mexican culinary delights such as enchiladas, tacos and chimichangas. There’s an excellent early bird menu, where you can enjoy two courses for a very reasonable £13.95. The portion sizes on the main dishes are rather generous, so if you’re after something a little lighter, check out the tapas selection. You can choose 3 small plates for £13.95 or large plates for £15.95.
Be sure to tell the staff if you’re celebrating a special occasion, as they usually make a fuss- think sparklers, sombreros and singing! If you’re after a drink or two, check out the impressive cocktails or sample some Mexican tequila.
Top tip: If you’re visiting Crosby Marina or Beach, check out their sister restaurant on South Road.
Leaf

Leaf is an incredibly popular choice for food on Bold Street, serving delicious food throughout the day from hearty breakfasts to small plates, sharing platters and more indulgent evening options. Vegetarians and vegans are spoilt for choice, with freshly prepared options for everyone on the menu. There’s a children’s brunch and main menu that’ll keep younger guests satisfied.
The extensive drinks menu features a range of hot, soft and alcoholic beverages. Leaf is often host to live entertainment and other popular events such as their ‘Supper Club’. Visit their website to check out their other venues, book and see what’s on before you visit.
Maray

Maray on Bold Street, Liverpool, brings tantalising flavours with a fantastic view. Here you can find a range of sharing plates and small dishes inspired by the Middle East and flavour combinations to die for. With a separate menu, vegetarian and vegans will be spoilt for choice.
If dining on a Sunday, check out their delicious Roast dinners. For those visiting with six or more guests, book the ‘basement’ for a private dining experience- the perfect way to celebrate with family or friends.
Why not visit their sister site in the Albert Dock, and enjoy one of the refreshing cocktails in the small outdoor seating area with big views?

Mowgli

Mowgli, Bolt Street, is another fantastic option if you’re looking for some delicious Indian street food or small plates. This is the second of their two sites and has a slightly less formal, more intimate feel, with walk-ins welcome (although we would definitely recommend pre-booking if you plan to visit).
If you’re struggling to decide which of the fantastic dishes to try, go for the pot luck tiffin to sample four tiers of meat, veg and carb (or veg and carb if you prefer).
For a more formal affair, try the Water Street venue which is bigger, brighter and feels a bit more special in our opinion. Be sure to book in advance for this venue though.
Top tip: Try the yoghurt chat bombs for a tantalising pre-meal treat!
Pho

If you’re after your fill of flavourful and nourishing cuisine, check out Pho on Bold Street to enjoy their Vietnamese dishes. This chain restaurant has two Liverpool venues, the other being in Castle Street.
Diners can expect to discover a variety of noodle and curry dishes, rice bowls and so much more. Pho pride themselves on serving healthy, freshly prepared dishes to its guests and there are also a number of vegan options on the menu.
Pieminister

If you’re after some hearty grub, then head to Pieminister for their award winning gourmet pies. Their pie menu features a range of classic and more contemporary flavour combinations, with vegetarian and vegan options to choose from.
There’s a very reasonably priced children’s menu, with a meal, juice and ice cream for £6.95. If you’re not too full after your meal, be sure to try one of the tasty ice cream sundaes.

Red Dog Saloon

If you’re after a taste of the USA, with some serious smoked bbq flavours, check out Red Dog Saloon, Bold Street. Their menu features a range of small plates and sharing platters, alongside their famous hot chicken, hot dogs and hickory smoked bbq dishes.
There’s a long list of American-inspired cocktails to choose from. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, check out their frozen custard shake flavours!
Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana

Situated at the top of Bold Street, Rudy’s is a cool and contemporary pizza joint serving the best pizza in town. Rudy’s Bold Street is one of the three Liverpool venues serving up authentic neapolitan pizza- the fact that there’s three venues in the city shows you just how popular it is!
There are a couple of vegan options on the menu, although vegetarians should note that the cheese used on the otherwise seemingly veggie friendly options is not suitable for vegetarians.
We would recommend booking in advance if planning to visit during evenings or weekends. However, a small number of tables are reserved for walk-ins, so head straight in if you’re seeking some pizza perfection!
